I visited the southern end between Susch and Lavin on the Engadin line on September 2, 1996, and took some photos. Enjoy this collection of pictures from an impressive construction site:

| There is an extensive system of 900 mm gauge tracks on the site; here, one of the small Diesel engines looks like a toy train in comparison to the Engadin passenger train going north on the 1000 mm tracks of the RhB. |

| The rocket-like structure on the flat car has the inscription “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Vereinatunnel Süd” and the RhB logo. (Thanks to Daniel Kassubek from the “Vereinatunnel Nord” project group who identified the “rocket” as a concrete container.) |
